The Spotlight: An Oscar favorite, Sam Rockwell says he's just in it for the parties

Sam Rockwell is sitting pretty as awards season heats up.
FOX Searchlight's "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" looks to be a strong Oscar contender and Rockwell could be a big reason why.
Along with leading lady Frances McDormand (Fargo), word is Rockwell has a great shot of scoring the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
The prospect doesn't seem to impress him.
"I've almost been to the prom a couple times," Rockwell told David Poland of DP/30. "You know, some of these are just fun parties. I went to the Golden Globes once, I presented, and there's this area where everyone goes out to smoke cigarettes and that's actually where you maybe get to have a conversation with Robert Duvall or somebody like that. You get to say hi to Gene Hackman or somebody. Or you just see old friends. You see people you know.
"Some of these people are famous and some of them aren't. But they're fellow actors so it's comforting to be around them. Ultimately it's a way for the movie to get seen. It's asses in seats and fun parties. That's the way you've got to look at it."
Besides the obvious benefit to his bank account, winning an Oscar would also mean a pretty packed schedule. Not a concern for Rockwell.
"It's not so much that I worry about not working," Rockwell said. "I worry about doing the right things. I want to do good stuff. I want to continue to do the kind of stuff my heroes did. So that gets a little trickier, making choices, when you have more options."
Rockwell joked that he wouldn't think twice of jumping over to theatre if the right film opportunity wasn't lining up for him.
"I'll do something. You can't be too precious about going to work. You've got to just go to work sometimes. You can be picky, but yea.
"I'm picky. I'm pretty picky. But I like to work, too."

Whoops. The 'Justice League' Rotten Tomatoes score leaked and it's pretty bad.

The next great one. Is virtual reality’s Steven Spielberg still in college?

I love animals because they’re honest. If they like you, they lick you. If they don’t, they eat you.

Get some sleep.
#waspworkout 🏃🏻♀️#sleep As I stand here on set, a little sleep deprived, I am reminded of my most important pillar of health and fitness: sleep. Sleep, for me, is EVERYTHING. Without it, I can eat as well as possible and I can work out like a maniac but I'll still feel my digestion slogging, my muscles lagging, my mind refusing, my face poofing and my whole body, but especially my belly, bloating. I'm more unhappy, irrational, unmotivated and I crave really junky food. Without sleep, I am a different, much less desirable, version of me. . The problem with sleeplessness is that it's really hard to realize what's going on. Once I get really over-tired, I often won't have the wherewithal to realize that I'm NOT actually gaining weight, even though my waistband is digging in, that I'm not rapidly aging despite the state of my face, and that the people around me aren't assholes...I am! . On the flip side, when I'm well rested, I'm always amazed by how I actually crave healthy food and exercise, how such a little bit of those things goes such a long way, how my outlook on my body and life brightens and how much slimmer I actually am when I'm not bloated with exhaustion. . So, in the event that you feel like everything is just wrong in your world or in your body, maybe try checking your sleep?? You might just find a little more (or a lot more) could be the answer to all that's ailing you. 😉👍🏻😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴 📸 @arielledepace
