Huge news for "Star Wars" fans.

Today during the company’s Q4 2017 earnings call, Disney chief Bob Iger announced plans for another "Star Wars" trilogy set to be helmed by director Rian Johnson.

Johnson's "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," is the second installment of the franchise's current trilogy, first revived by J.J. Abrams with 2015's "The Force Awakens."

According to Deadline, the new trilogy will revolve around original characters but take place in a different galaxy. Johnson will also reunite with long-time producing partner Ram Bergman, who co-produced "Last Jedi" with Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy.

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is set for a Dec. 15 release date.
