Great news for fans of Netflix and Marvel's The Punisher.

In posts Tuesday afternoon Netflix and star Jon Bernthal confirmed that the series has been renewed for a second season.

The show garnered mixed reviews with critics, placing it in limbo. The show currently sits at 61 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, making it one of the Netflix's most criticized Marvel properties. Aside from Iron Fist (19%), most of the Netflix MCU shows have fared much better. Of the central Defenders character series, Daredevil is the lowest rated sitting at 86 percent. Not too shabby.

The Punisher received some heavy backlash due to its gun violence, so much so that its panel was actually pulled from New York City Comic-Con in October.
