The Spotlight: Charlie Day and Chloë Grace Moretz bail on any further promotion of Louis C.K.'s controversial film 'I Love You, Daddy,' 'I was appalled'
Comedian Louis C.K. is already feeling the fallout of Thursday's expose in the New York Times.
The New York premier of his upcoming "I Love You, Daddy" was preemptively cancelled ahead of the story and it wasn't long before the film's cast started distancing themselves.
“I was as appalled as everyone to read the allegations made in the New York Times,” actor Charlie Day said in a statement to the L.A. Times. “I do not condone sexual misconduct and, in light of the allegations, will not be promoting the movie further.”
Actress Chloë Grace Moretz, who stars as C.K.'s 17-year-old daughter in the film, was even more ahead of the curve.
According to her publicist, Moretz pulled out of all promotion for the film two weeks ago “when she was made aware of numerous possible accusations."
HBO has already severed ties with C.K. and FX Networks may be soon to follow. C.K.'s Pig Newton production company has worked with the network for almost a decade, producing C.K.'s critically acclaimed "Louis," Pamela Aldon's "Better Things" and Zach Galifianakis' "Baskets."
Aldon, who also appears in "I Love You, Daddy" has yet to comment on the situation.
UPDATE: Aldon has released a statement asking for privacy while she processes the news.
